Ropinirole

Ropinirole is an oral non-ergoline dopamine agonist. It works by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain, mimicking the effects of the natural neurotransmitter dopamine, which helps regulate body movements and relieves RLS symptoms.

Dosage by Body Weight

Dosage must be individualized and titrated slowly under a doctor's supervision. For Parkinson's disease, the typical starting dose is 0.25 mg three times daily, gradually increased weekly. For Restless Legs Syndrome, the typical starting dose is 0.25 mg once daily, taken 1 to 3 hours before bedtime. Do not stop taking this medication abruptly.
